Fifteen days have passed since the abominable spectacle of 13 October, when Donald Trump presented in Egypt the ‘peace plan’ for Gaza agreed with Netanyahu. In almost no time, these two genocidal maniacs have made it very clear that the only peace they are willing to accept is the peace of the graveyards.
Gaza subjected to a bloody colonial regime
Israel continues to occupy 58% of Gaza's territory, including all exits to neighbouring countries. The Gaza of the ‘peace agreement’ is the largest open-air prison on the planet. A veritable concentration camp surrounded by Zionist troops.
And just twelve days after this infamous agreement was presented, independent media and humanitarian organisations reported that there had already been between 47 and 80 violations of the ceasefire by the Zionist army[1], resulting in the deaths of more than a hundred Palestinians, including entire families.

This bloody preamble gives a measure of the true nature of the ‘peace plan’
While preparing their colonial administration disguised as a ‘technocratic government including Arab personalities’, Washington and Tel Aviv continue to carry out systematic ethnic cleansing, and Zionist politicians publicly boast about the torture inflicted on the more than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners they hold captive in prisons and concentration camps.
From the Revolutionary Left, we reiterate once again our support for the Palestinian people's right to armed self-defence in the face of this situation of brutal colonial occupation, ethnic cleansing and genocide. We stand in solidarity with all those who are fighting against it and denounce the isolation, mistreatment, torture and deprivation of basic human rights suffered by prisoners.
As we have repeatedly denounced, the only thing that has changed under this farce announced in Egypt is that now the genocidal forces have the backing of the UN and all the capitalist governments, starting with the 20 presidents and heads of state who went to Sharm el Sheikh to pay homage to Trump and say ‘amen’ to his colonialist and imperialist measures.
A genocide that continues
Although the intensity and extent of the bombing is not as severe as in previous weeks, the plan to expel hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to refugee camps in neighbouring Arab countries and subject the rest to conditions of semi-slavery continues in different ways.
The majority of the Gazan population is forced to survive in enclaves made up of precarious tents, without water or electricity, without hospitals, without schools, lacking the basic necessities for life, and subjected to surveillance by the Zionist army, which continues to enjoy absolute impunity to intervene and attack them at any time.
Conditions in Gaza could not be more devastating. "The urban fabric has been almost completely destroyed by Israeli shells, bombs, drones and bulldozers: 80% of buildings are damaged or destroyed, 90% of homes are destroyed and 80% of farmland has been razed. The Strip is now home to 17,000 orphans, and the UN estimates that the last two years have set back human development in Gaza by 69 years, bringing it back to 1955 levels, as stated in the UNDP report, Gaza War: Expected Socioeconomic Impacts on the State of Palestine (October 2024)”[2].
All this destruction reinforces another central element of the Nazi-Zionist holocaust: deliberately caused famine. As the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned on BBC Radio 4's Today programme: ‘The health situation in the Gaza Strip is “catastrophic” and its consequences will last “for generations”.’ Although Israel has allowed medical supplies and some humanitarian aid to enter, the volume remains well below what is needed to ‘rebuild a collapsed health system.’ The same is true for food needs.

‘Even with the ceasefire, hunger, mass injuries, epidemics and lack of access to drinking water and sanitation create a deadly combination (...) According to United Nations data, since the truce, more than 6,700 tonnes of food have entered Gaza, a figure well below the daily target of 2,000 tonnes...’. The WHO official pointed out: ‘Aid cannot be conditional or used as a political weapon’[3]. But it is obvious that neither Trump nor Netanyahu will renounce it under any circumstances.
Greater Israel is a genocidal project
The Greater Israel plan is taking shape step by step. While the project to turn Gaza into a luxury resort is on the table, on 22 October the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) approved a debate on a project to completely annex the West Bank. Once again, this decision has been hypocritically criticised by some Western governments, and even Trump made statements against it for the sake of appearances[4]. But these crocodile tears have no serious political value. We are witnessing the same cynical and despicable theatrical performance that has been repeated since the 1994 Oslo Accords.
The policies of occupation and colonisation through settler colonies, declared illegal by the UN but against which no one lifts a finger, have been used for years to subject the Palestinian population of the West Bank to an apartheid regime similar to that suffered for decades by the black majority in South Africa. And capitalist governments and the UN limit themselves to statements because, as with the financing of the Zionist military industry that is devastating Gaza, this policy also serves the strategic interests of US imperialism and hundreds of
American and European companies (including several Spanish ones) that are doing millions of dollars worth of business with the Zionist state.
Trump and Netanyahu play ‘good cop, bad cop’, and some naive people fall for it, while in practice they have been imposing this de facto annexation since long before 7 October 2023 through the joint action of the regular army and fascist settler gangs that have attacked tens of thousands of Palestinian families, causing thousands of victims, destroying their homes and stealing their land.
‘According to the UN commission's investigation, in the West Bank, a territory occupied militarily by Israel, the measures implemented by the Israeli government since October 2023 demonstrate ’a clear intention’ to forcibly transfer Palestinians, expand the Israeli Jewish civilian presence and annex the entire West Bank. The report asserts that these actions prevent the possibility of creating a Palestinian state and are aimed at maintaining an indefinite occupation of these territories"[5].
The Zionist state can only exist on the basis of occupation and policies of ethnic cleansing and extermination against the Palestinian people. The crisis of Israeli capitalism is pushing the Nazi-Zionist regime to continue sowing terror through the Greater Israel project, whose cornerstone is total domination of the West Bank and Gaza, and is completed with control of at least southern Lebanon and much of southern Syria.
Since the announcement of ‘peace’, in addition to continuing to turn Gaza and the West Bank into hell, Israel has launched attacks against Lebanon and Yemen and new threats against Iran and Syria. These militaristic and supremacist policies have the strong support of US imperialism.
In his desperate attempt to contain the rise of the rival imperialist bloc formed by China and Russia, Trump is using Netanyahu's Nazi-Zionist regime to do his dirty work and send a message to the world: they will sow death and chaos wherever they can rather than give up their supremacy.

The distribution of the spoils
Plans for the distribution of the spoils are already underway. According to the reconstruction plan being drawn up by the White House with the Tel Aviv government, the initial investment to rebuild Gaza would reach $50 billion.
A UN report puts the figure at 70 billion. Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich, a Nazi Zionist, explained this a month ago at a meeting with property speculators at the Tel Aviv Financial Club: "Israel has begun talks with the United States to draw up a development plan for the enclave. We have paid a lot of money for this war, now we must decide how to divide up the land in Gaza"[6].
And Trump confirmed this in his sickening speech to the Knesset, after congratulating his ‘best friend’ Bibi for his vital role in ‘this momentous day’ and explaining that ‘Israel, with our help, has won everything it could win by force of arms’: ‘Now is the time to translate those victories against terrorists on the battlefield into the ultimate prize: peace and prosperity.’
That is why all the big capitalists, corporations and banks support the farce of the peace plan orchestrated by Trump and Netanyahu: the distribution of a juicy spoils and the fear that the mass uprising against genocide that is sweeping the world will continue and spread, with revolutionary consequences in different countries, starting with the Middle East.
Capitalists around the world, and the governments at their service, are doing their calculations and weaving agreements, seeking to get the biggest slice possible of the plans for the reconstruction and exploitation of the resources of Gaza and the West Bank. This also includes the Chinese and Russian imperialists, who have not lifted a finger to stop this slaughter, putting regional stability to protect their economic agreements and Silk Road projects above all other considerations.
Only the internationalist struggle will work
The only way to achieve the liberation and sovereignty of Palestine and end the genocide, as we at Revolutionary Left have argued from the outset, is to continue to promote the global anti-Zionist, anti-fascist and anti-capitalist uprising which, with its epicentre in several European countries, has spread throughout the world in recent months.
As we said at the beginning of this statement, revolutionary communists unconditionally defend the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves with arms against their oppressors. This includes defending themselves against the mafia clans formed by degenerate and lumpenised elements who have betrayed their own people by collaborating with the occupying army and looting humanitarian aid.
But the struggle for the self-determination and liberation of Palestine must be linked to policies that promote the revolutionary uprising of the masses against Zionism, capitalism and imperialism throughout the Middle East, uniting the working class and all the oppressed under the banner of socialism.
The overthrow of the Zionist state is impossible without promoting class struggle in neighbouring countries and ending the Arab regimes that are accomplices and lackeys of the US. It makes no sense to proclaim the destruction of Zionism as an objective while maintaining a position of political capitulation to the governments of Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia or the Iran of the mullahs.

It is essential that the combative Palestinian left, which fights and resists the occupier, which has suffered brutal Zionist repression and has thousands of militants in prison, defends a policy of class independence and, consequently, internationalism.
Subordinating revolutionary politics, or worse, suspending them for the sake of agreements with fundamentalist organisations such as Hamas, may seem very practical and realistic. But this strategy leads to becoming pawns in the diplomatic game of the aforementioned regimes.
The links between Hamas leaders and the government of the mullahs, the sheikhs of Qatar and the Palestinian bourgeoisie itself and the rest of the Arab world, and their fundamentalist ideas, represent an obstacle to a consistent and effective anti-imperialist struggle. Their programme is not one of revolution; they do not seek to overthrow capitalism in the Middle East or to challenge the Arab regimes on which they depend politically and financially.
The liberation of Palestine can only find a real solution through socialist revolution, through the struggle for a unified and socialist Palestine within the framework of a Socialist Federation of the Middle East. Only in this way will it be possible to create the basis for peaceful coexistence, where the democratic rights of all the peoples and nations that are part of the region can be respected.
